Instructor - Rail Transport Engineering at ITE College West

Role Overview
As an Instructor, your impact extends beyond traditional teaching. You will be instrumental in identifying and fostering the potential of your students while addressing their ongoing educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
In addition to your instructional responsibilities, you will engage in industry-related projects or consultancy work to ensure your skills remain aligned with current industry trends. This role also involves maintaining robust connections with both industry stakeholders and educational institutions. Regular opportunities for industry exposure will be provided to enhance your professional skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess qualifications in Rapid Transit Engineering or related engineering fields, ideally with a minimum of three years of practical experience in the Mass Rapid Transit or Train sector. Familiarity and technical expertise in the following areas will be advantageous:
- Signalling, Communications, and Integrated Supervisory Control Systems (ISCS) for Train Operations.
- Automatic Train Operation/Protection, SCADA, Maintenance Management Systems (MMS), and wide area network technologies (e.g., SDH, Gigabit Ethernet, MPLS).
- Wireless LAN technologies, TETRA digital trunked radio, Telephony, video surveillance systems, and Centralised Clock systems.
- Permanent Way (PWay) and Rolling Stock (RS) Systems.
- Infrastructure systems including tunnels, viaducts, third rails, guide rails, sleepers, and Route Protection, as well as Mechanical and Electronic equipment related to train systems.
Exceptional candidates with relevant experience may be considered for Senior Lecturer roles or equivalent positions, with pathways for career advancement into leadership roles within the Colleges or Headquarters.
