Job Title: Clinical Microbiologist

The Clinical Microbiologist position is based in the Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM), which provides a range of comprehensive laboratory services to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide diagnostic and consultative clinical microbiology services to the hospital.
  • Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative activities.
  • Lead the Microbiology service, provide bench-level advice, and manage the clinical microbiology service.
  • Validate significant positive microbiology results, quality control medical diagnostic laboratory, and communicate critical microbiology results.
  • Offer antimicrobial treatment and stewardship advice and other consultative services to staff of all clinical disciplines in the hospital.
Requirements:
  • Qualified and experienced medical specialists with relevant qualifications suitable for registration with the Singapore Medical Council.
  • Specialist qualification in Clinical Microbiology (Pathology/Laboratory Medicine) recognized by the Singapore Specialists Accreditation Board.
  • Appropriate postgraduate qualifications in Microbiology, such as Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath).
  • At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal in a field related to Microbiology.
