Clinical Microbiologist

The Clinical Microbiologist position is based in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, providing comprehensive laboratory services to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and external clients.

• Provide diagnostic and consultative clinical microbiology services to the hospital.
• Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative activities.
• Lead the Microbiology service, provide bench-level advice, and manage the clinical microbiology service.
• Validate significant positive microbiology results, perform quality control of medical diagnostic laboratories, and communicate critical microbiology results.
• Collaborate with the hospital's infectious diseases service, intensive care unit physicians, and infection control unit.

• Qualified and experienced medical specialists with relevant qualifications for registration with the Singapore Medical Council.
• Specialist qualification in Clinical Microbiology (Pathology/Laboratory Medicine) recognized by the Singapore Specialists Accreditation Board.
• Appropriate postgraduate qualifications in Microbiology, such as Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath).
• At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal in a field related to Microbiology.
