Chief Financial Officer, APAC

Edelman Asia Pacific is seeking a seasoned financial leader to join our team as Chief Financial Officer, APAC. As a trusted advisor and business partner to the Regional CEO and APAC leadership team, you will play a key role in driving profitable growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a strong and diverse finance team across APAC, working closely with colleagues globally to deliver financial strategies and achieve business objectives.
  • Form and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring fairness, transparency, and high integrity in all interactions.
  • Oversee annual budgeting and monthly forecast processes, highlighting opportunities and mitigating risks to maximize business outcomes.
  • Provide regular, timely financial insights to support key management decisions and business performance, presenting complex information in a simple and effective way.
  • Identify opportunities to address conflicts or change processes to improve business efficiency in a complex, matrix organization.
Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead a team of 60-70 finance team members with 10 direct reports, motivating, coaching, and training them to achieve their full potential.
  • Actively support and manage career development of direct reports and their teams, fostering a collaborative culture and living the Edelman values.
  • Proactively address tough situations with honest and fair conversations, encouraging open communication and trust within the team.
Client Pricing, Legal & Negotiation:
  • Strengthen commercial financial literacy among business consultants to enable healthy, profitable client relationships.
  • Enable the finance team to work in partnership with client leads to accurately price out projects at appropriate contribution margin levels.
  • Prepare for and participate in client and procurement negotiations to build relationships and agree mutually acceptable terms.
Financial Reporting, Audit & Compliance:
  • Support the finance team to manage the month-end close, adhering to global timelines and requirements.
  • Engage actively with controllership function and internal audit team to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
  • Remain connected to global Treasury and Tax teams to highlight issues, mitigate risks, and support changes to behavior or processes.
