Our institution is seeking an experienced educator to fill a part-time Lecturer in Design role. As a key member of our teaching team, you will guide students through the creative process from ideation to final presentation, fostering their confidence, creativity, and visual literacy.

About the Role
  • This position involves delivering engaging teaching sessions in areas such as visual communication, design principles, and creative practice, inspiring students to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Facilitate lectures, workshop/studio sessions, critiques, and tutorials, providing constructive feedback and mentoring to help students achieve their goals.
  2. Introduce key developments and practices in art and design, making them accessible to foundation-level learners and promoting a deep understanding of the subject.
  3. Provide structured critique, feedback, and mentoring to students in both group and individual settings, helping them develop their critical thinking skills.
  4. Contribute to the design of assessment tasks (e.g., projects, critiques, examinations) and evaluate student work in line with academic policies, ensuring consistency and fairness.
  5. Support students' creative thinking, visual literacy, and cultural awareness in an international learning environment, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.
  6. Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement, contributing your expertise and ideas to shape the future of our teaching program.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in creative practice and theory.
  • Teaching experience at pre-university, foundation, or undergraduate level is preferred, showcasing your ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A professional portfolio of creative practice, highlighting your skills and achievements in the field of design and art.
  • Familiarity with both traditional studio methods and digital tools, enabling you to effectively integrate technology into your teaching.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills, with sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds, allowing you to connect with students from around the world.
