The role of the Senior Staff Nurse is to provide high-quality care to residents in a geriatric setting. This involves assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care plans for residents, ensuring their physical, emotional and social well-being.
As a member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for supervising junior nursing staff, nurse aides and healthcare assistants. You will also be involved in quality improvement initiatives, contribute to the development of best practices, conduct audits and participate in continuous education programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Care: Assess residents' health conditions and develop personalized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and record residents' vital signs and medical information.
- Provide wound care and other nursing procedures as required.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including feeding, bathing and mobility.
- Respond to medical emergencies promptly and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board.
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in a geriatric or long-term care setting.
- BCLS and AED certification.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of geriatric care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Leadership and supervisory experience.
