AI Governance Lead Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and implementation of AI governance frameworks, ensuring the safe use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems across our organization.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AI technologies, machine learning, and their ethical and societal implications. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for influencing and engaging C-suite executives and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive AI governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures for ethical AI development and deployment.
  • Ensure AI initiatives comply with regulations and industry standards, staying ahead of evolving legal and ethical requirements.
  • Conduct AI impact assessments to identify potential risks with the AI systems.
  • Develop and maintain AI approval process documentation and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in AI governance, data ethics, compliance or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a multinational Organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing AI governance frameworks or similar compliance programs in complex, global environments.
  • Experience with evolving regulatory landscapes for AI and data, in Asia and Africa, and relevant parts of the most influential AI frameworks.
Preferred Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning, and their ethical and societal implications.
  • Strong understanding of global data privacy laws, AI regulations, and ethical guidelines.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage C-suite executives and cross-functional teams.
