About the Role

Our client is a leading American brand name in the field of consumer electronics, with over 100 years of history and more than 2000 employees globally. We are representing their Singapore Research & Development (R&D) team to hire for their new headcount for the Motor Advanced Development team.

This role involves Staff Engineer / Senior Engineer, Motor Development within the Advanced Development team. As a key member, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development of innovative motor and design solutions for next-generation products.
  • Collaborating with global teams, suppliers, and partners to assess technical and cost feasibility.
  • Presenting clear, data-driven proposals with solution value, trade-offs, and risks.
  • Driving cross-functional implementation and validation for product integration.
  • Supporting engineering teams in integrating new technology into final designs.

You will work closely with the team to advance organizational expertise in motor and driver technologies.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Master's/PhD in Electronics, Mechatronics, or related fields.
  • Expertise in motor driver and/or motor design (BLDC, PMDC, Universal motors).
  • Skills in power electronics, PCB design/layout, EMI/EMC compliance, and thermal management.
  • Knowledge of motor design optimization, safety standards, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical, creative, and problem-solving abilities with global collaboration skills.
  • Passion for research, innovation, and delivering real-world technology solutions.
