About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team at Singtel. As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing our cloud infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud-based services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Operations Director/Team in ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud infrastructure, conforming to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and within budgeted capital and operational expenses.
  • Establish and manage IT standards, processes, and guidelines that align with industry standards and best practices.
  • Manage reporting of operational statistics based on respective competencies and cloud resources on a monthly basis.
  • Execute the annual workplan for the effective management of our cloud platforms to achieve agreed SLAs.
  • Execute automation initiatives to improve the efficiency and productivity of our cloud platforms.
  • Manage customer cloud end-to-end onboarding and BAU operations.
  • Support the team on audits and compliance based on international and local standards.
Technical Requirements
  • Provisioning and de-provisioning Public Cloud Services (AWS/Azure) and Private Cloud (VMware-vCloud Director, vCenter, NSX-T, vSAN).
  • Deploying, managing, and operating Public/Private Cloud environments.
  • Identifying appropriate use of Public/Private Cloud operational best practices.
  • Estimating Public Cloud costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms.
  • Maintaining technical documentation.
  • Proactively creating automation to streamline provisioning and de-provisioning processes.
  • Supporting data/service migration projects.
  • Managing Public/Private Cloud infrastructure changes through the change request process and providing status reports to relevant parties.
  • Responding promptly to incidents, investigating, and providing temporary and/or permanent resolutions.
  • Monitoring and measuring system performance and availability, implementing corrective actions to improve performance and availability.
  • Ensuring service levels meet requirements and implementing action plans when necessary.
  • Reviewing standard operations procedures to ensure relevancy.
  • Supporting service continuity measures, including backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and implementing proactive measures.
  • Providing technical advice to customers or project teams for manageable issues.
  • Implementing processes based on security standards or best practices to avoid security breaches and reduce system vulnerability.
Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field.
  • VMWare VCP Certification or Training.
  • Certification in Azure System Administration.
  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certification - Mandatory.
  • Certification in AWS System Administration will be a plus.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in a relevant functional area, especially in supporting Private Cloud Infra/Virtualization using VMware technology, Public Cloud Infra (AWS & AZURE) Administration, and Automation Tools.
