**Tile Specialist Job Description**

We are seeking a skilled Tile Specialist to join our team. As a Tile Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, cutting and shaping tiles, creating tile beds, laying and grouting tiles, installing tiles, polishing and surfacing granite and marble, and creating decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Surface Preparation: Clean, level, and waterproof surfaces, and remove old grout and cement
  • Tile Cutting and Shaping: Use hand and power tools to cut tiles to fit around obstacles and into tight spaces
  • Tile Bed Creation: Use tools like screeds, brushes, and trowels to form tile beds using concrete, plaster, cement, glue, or mortar
  • Laying and Grouting Tiles: Lay and grout tiles evenly and cleanly
  • Tile Installation: Tap tiles into place using tools to adhere them to the base
  • POLISHING AND SURFACING: Polish and surface granite and marble
  • Design Creation: Create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles
  • Collaboration with Other Tradespeople: Work with other tradespeople and consult with project managers and clients
  • MATERIAL PROCUREMENT: Order materials and parts
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Drainage Knowledge: Familiarity with drainage systems and principles
  • Painting and Polishing: Ability to paint and polish surfaces
  • Construction Experience: Previous experience in construction or related field
  • Metalworking: Familiarity with metalworking tools and techniques
  • Unloading and Material Handling: Ability to unload and handle materials safely
  • Electrical Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical systems
  • Waterproofing: Knowledge of waterproofing techniques and materials
  • Hazardous Materials Handling: Familiarity with handling hazardous materials
