Tile Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced tile specialist to join our team. As a tile specialist, you will be responsible for installing and finishing tile installations on walls and floors.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Cut tiles and shape them properly using power and hand tools to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners and odd spaces.
  • Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar utilizing tools such as screeds, brushes and trowels.
  • Align tiles and straighten them with straightedges, levels and squares to ensure patterns are even and precise.
  • Cut, install, polish and surface granite and marble ensuring accuracy during the installation process for lasting results.
  • Prepare various surfaces for tiling by applying waterproofing material or lath and cleaning the surfaces properly.
  • Create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms.
  • Tap tiles into place carefully using tools to properly adhere tiles to the base without breaking or damaging them.
  • Follow blueprints precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to determine how to approach jobs effectively.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Strong Technical Skills: Proficiency in using power and hand tools, as well as experience working with different types of tile and materials.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to align tiles and straighten them with precision to ensure patterns are even and precise.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work at heights, lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
