Infection Control Specialist
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Infection Control Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in infection control and managing infectious diseases.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, implement, manage, and evaluate infection control activities at healthcare sites
- Conduct quality control audits on infection control and risk assessments
- Provide advice and training to facilities on prevention, transmission, infection control, and appropriate precautions/assessments
- Work with infection control doctors, nurses, and microbiologists on the outcome of disinfection being carried out
- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
- Keep abreast of changes in infection control policies and standards
- Support assessment of any disinfection equipment/study relevant to Infection Control efficacy within UEMS and in consultation with the hospital's relevant personnel
- Initiate relevant infection control improvement activities
- Analyze audit reports, present, and recommend mitigation action when necessary
- Registered Nurse with 2 years of relevant experience in infection control and managing infectious diseases
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry best practices
- Report on these changes to relevant stakeholders
- Appointed Liaison and spokesperson between stakeholders during national and institutional audits like CIIC, HQPSS, ESS etc for Infection Prevention and Control matters
- Organize and ensure complete documentation of staff weekly roll calls to mitigate risks and evaluate compliance for blood spillage and other Infection Prevention and Control work instructions
- Represent, develop, and deliver outcomes of participation in support of hospital/Institutional Hand Hygiene Day, Housekeeper's Appreciation Day etc.
- Lead, report, and analyze Hand Hygiene and GloGerm (bed discharge) data on the annual compliance rate for patient's safety
- Keep abreast with institutional updates to monitor, report, and maintain onboarding and workplace vaccination documents required by organization policies promptly
