Our restaurant is seeking an experienced cook to join our Chinese cuisine team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a strong desire to learn and grow with our team.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled cook who can prepare and cook a variety of delicious dishes, including stir-fries, soups, meats, and seafood. Your attention to detail, creativity, and ability to work well under pressure will be essential in ensuring that every dish that leaves the kitchen is of the highest standard.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, soups, meats, and seafood.
  • Assist in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and portion control.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food ingredients.
  • Assist in stock ordering, receiving, and storing supplies.
  • Work closely with the head chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

Requirements:
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in Chinese cuisine (zichar, hawker stall, or restaurant environment).
  • Must possess a valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Ability to read and speak simple English and Chinese to communicate effectively with foreign colleagues and handle stock ordering.
  • Must not have food allergies (due to handling of seafood, spices, and other ingredients).
  • Willing to work 6 days per week, including weekends, public holidays, and long hours as required by operations.
  • Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to learn.
