Equity Researcher Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Equity Researcher to conduct in-depth analysis and provide expert recommendations to our investment team. As an Equity Researcher, you will be responsible for screening stock ideas, generating reports, conducting fundamental analysis, and due diligence of companies.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and financial modelling skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will be able to apply a bottom-up fundamental approach to equity research and carry out due diligence on companies including conducting interviews with company management, competitors, suppliers, and customers where possible.

You will prepare financial models and written investment recommendations incorporating financial analysis and qualitative due diligence. Your role will also involve communicating investment ideas to the portfolio management team and assisting the portfolio managers with the management of the equity portfolios.

  • Screening stock ideas and generating reports
  • Conducting fundamental analysis and due diligence on companies
  • Applying a bottom-up fundamental approach to equity research
  • Preparing financial models and written investment recommendations
  • Communicating investment ideas to the portfolio management team
  • Assisting the portfolio managers with the portfolio management
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in a related field (e.g. finance, accounting)
  • Additional professional certification (e.g. CFA) is preferred
  • A minimum of 6-8 years' experience in fundamental equity research on the buy-side or sell-side
  • Experience in researching stocks globally is preferred
  • Strong financial modelling experience backed by a solid understanding of valuation and accounting methodologies and principles
  • Strong knowledge of investing and financial markets, particularly in the equity asset class
  • Intellectual curiosity and honesty
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently
