Principal Mechanical Design Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative mechanical designs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop conceptual proposals for mechanical design reviews, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilize 3D CAD modeling software to create detailed designs, taking into account manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Establish modular designs and product bill of materials structures, streamlining production processes.
  • Benchmark and report on sub-assembly test plans, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Incorporate design improvements, enhancing overall product robustness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with vendors to optimize design for manufacturability and negotiate costs.
  • Understand design-to-cost targets, driving innovation within mechanical architectures.
  • Contribute to technology advancements in our R&D portal, pushing the boundaries of mechanical design.

Requirements:

  • A degree or master's in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in product development life cycles, with at least three years in mechanical design.

Preferred Skills:

  • Crafting/designing casting, machining, plastics molding, and sheet-metal parts with good DFM practices.
  • Basic to advanced geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Completed at least one product life cycle design.
  • Project management skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams.
  • Good knowledge in mechanism design and thermal characteristics.
  • Proficient in CFD/FLOW simulation, analyzing flow/thermal characteristics.
  • Experience in mechanical design in medical or life sciences product development in R&D environments.
