You are a data analyst working for a global investment company. The role of the internal auditor is to provide independent and objective assurance and advisory services designed to add value and protect the organization's reputation. Reporting functionally to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, and administratively to the CEO, the Internal Audit team helps the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a risk-based, systematic and disciplined approach to efficiently evaluate and improve the effectiveness of its risk management, internal controls and governance processes.
This intern will support the Internal Audit (IA) team in executing data analytics, data sciences, and automation projects and related initiatives to enhance the way audits are conducted and take part in the team's transformation efforts. They will be responsible for designing and testing data solutions, piloting new and innovative technologies, and playing a key role in modernizing IA at the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extract and transform data from various sources
- Design data models and execute data analytics procedures to identify trends, anomalies, and insights to support audit processes
- Explore the application of natural language processing, unstructured data analytics, and other machine learning techniques to enhance audit procedures
- Experiment with innovative technologies such as generative AI and data platforms to modernize how audits and related efforts are performed
- Collaborate with team members to develop reporting and operational dashboards and data applications
- Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such SQL, Python
- Experience with data visualization tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate and present work effectively
- Highly professional and discreet, able to maintain confidentiality on projects
- Detail-oriented, organized, able to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
As an Internal Auditor, you will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, actively contribute ideas, and be pleasant to work with. You will gain experience in driving process alignment, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration. Additionally, you will have the chance to develop your skills in data analytics, data sciences, and automation, and play a key role in modernizing the organization's auditing practices.
