Corporate Lawyer - Risk Management Specialist

MUFG Investor Services is a leading provider of asset servicing and operational solutions to global funds, banks, and other financial institutions. Our team of experienced professionals offers a range of services including fund administration, banking, payments, and foreign exchange overlay.

We are seeking an experienced corporate lawyer with strong risk management skills to join our legal team as a risk management specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified lawyer to play a key role in supporting the growth and development of our business.

The successful candidate will have 7-10 years' experience in a similar role and a valid practicing certificate in England and Wales or New York. They will also have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and be able to provide expert advice on risk management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advisory support to our core businesses including fund administration, registrar and transfer agent, investor AML services, banking, custody, trustee, regulatory reporting, registered office and corporate secretary businesses.
  • Manage timelines and expectations, review and draft legal documents, negotiate agreements, liaise with internal stakeholders on issues to ensure risks are understood, seek sign-off from relevant parties, deal with execution and/or provide a final legal opinion as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain effective risk management policies and procedures to minimize exposure to potential losses.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with new business initiatives and projects.
  • Work closely with senior management and other teams to develop and implement risk management strategies.
Requirements:
  • Qualified lawyer with 7-10 years' post qualification experience and a valid practicing certificate in England and Wales or New York.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
