Global Energy Trader Role

We are seeking an experienced Global Energy Trader to execute trading strategies and contribute to the success of our company.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing trading strategies linked to global arbitrage opportunities.

They will work closely with traders in various offices to proactively identify and capitalize on market trends. Additionally, they will provide offtake for our US NGL fractionation facilities and third-party volumes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global energy markets, including naphtha trade flows and arbitrage economics. They should also possess excellent negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively.

This is an individual contributor role that requires results-oriented professionals who can think and act decisively under changing circumstances. The successful candidate will be able to capture regional opportunities through spot and term purchases and sales.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining counterparty relationships to conclude naphtha transactions
  • Expanding our market presence and increasing trading potential
  • Challenging existing strategies to explore new trading ideas
  • Working cross-functionally with LPG, Origination, and Clean Products regional and global teams
  • Optimizing freight with the marine department and logistics teams
  • Complying with risk management policies and ensuring proper controls and return thresholds are aligned with corporate goals
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in the energy industry, including at least 3+ years of naphtha trading experience

Candidates with entrepreneurial skills, comfort trading in an unstructured environment, and experience trading naphtha in the Asia Pacific region will be preferred.
