We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Assistant to join our project on urban heat island mitigation through greenery-based solutions.

Supported by a national park authority, this project aims to evaluate the cooling effects of urban greenery and develop a modelling platform to assess and optimize these benefits in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct multi-scale numerical simulations, including thermal environment, urban greenery, and airflow at city, district, and neighborhood scales.
  • Publish research findings in top-tier academic journals and present at conferences.
  • Organize and assist with technical workshops, networking events, and conferences locally and internationally.
Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Dynamics, Atmospheric Sciences, Urban Climate, Architecture Engineering, or related fields, with a focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

Knowledgeable in urban climate modelling.

Experience with environmental simulation tools such as UrbanMicroclimateFoam, OpenFOAM, WRF/PALM, or similar.

Highly motivated, able to work independently, with good time management and planning skills.

Additional Information:

This role is located at Kent Ridge Campus and falls under the Department of Architecture.
