Key Responsibilities
  • Wine List Development: Develop and maintain an exceptional wine list that complements our menu and reflects current trends.
  • Wine Procurement: Source and procure high-quality wines from reputable vendors, negotiating favourable pricing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Inventory Management: Manage wine inventory, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and stock control to minimize waste.
  • Guest Service: Provide exceptional guest service with extensive knowledge of wines and vintages.
  • Wine Recommendations: Guide guests through wine selections, offering personalized recommendations based on their preferences and the chosen dishes.
  • Wine Education: Educate and engage guests about wine through tableside presentations and wine pairing suggestions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about current wine trends, new vintages, and emerging regions.
  • Revenue Growth: Contribute to revenue growth by promoting wine sales and upselling opportunities.
  • Team Collaboration: Maintain a professional demeanour and represent the company positively when interacting with guests and colleagues.
  • Wine Sales and Revenue: Responsible for wine sales/revenue and COGS.
  • Wine Events: Responsible to bring bi-monthly wine dinners/wine events.
  • Wine List Maintenance: Responsible to upkeep physical wine list.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety and hygiene regulations by the respective government agencies within Front of House.
Requirements
  • Certification: Certified Sommelier or equivalent wine education.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a high-end restaurant setting.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and food pairings.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion: Passion for wine and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service.
