Job Overview

As a Junior Sommelier at NEXTBEAT SINGAPORE PTE. LTD., you will play a vital role in enhancing the dining experience for our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to offer expert recommendations on wine pairings to complement our culinary offerings. You will work closely with our Sommelier team to ensure seamless execution of wine service, from wine selection to glassware and temperature control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Sommelier team in all wine-related tasks, including wine selection, inventory management, and wine education.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests with wine selections in a helpful, thoughtful, and gracious manner.
  • Ensure that wines are served at the optimal temperature and in the correct glassware to enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest wine trends, regions, and varietals to provide expert recommendations to our guests.
  • Collaborate with the Sommelier team to update our wine list regularly to reflect the latest offerings.
  • Participate in wine education programs to expand your knowledge and skills in wine and beverage service.

Requirements
  • Certification as a Sommelier or a degree in Hospitality is highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward, or in a fine dining role is essential.
  • Good knowledge of wines, regions, and varietals is required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions
  • Long hours, covering different shifts and working during public holidays may be required.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours, is necessary.

Benefits
  • $400 allowance, AWS, medical allowance, annual evaluation, tips, and incentive.

Working Hours
  • 12:00 - 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 1:00 AM (transport provided at night).
  • Working Days: 5 days / week.
