Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Assistant Director. This role involves carrying out audits on assigned areas to enable the Project Lead to conclude and report on the audit of a government ministry/statutory board/public entity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing, finance, or a related field, with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing internal controls, planning and developing audit programs, executing audit programs, identifying audit issues and areas of concern, and preparing management letters to auditees.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and develop your skills and expertise in auditing and financial analysis. You will also have the chance to make a real difference in enhancing public accountability and transparency in the nation.

About Us:

The Auditor-General's Office (AGO) is an independent organ of state and the national auditor. Our mission is to audit and report to the President and Parliament on the proper accounting and use of public resources to enhance public accountability.

We conduct various audits and our observations include system weaknesses, non-compliance with control procedures or legislation, and instances of excess, extravagance, or gross inefficiency leading to waste in the use of public funds and resources.

  • This role requires a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Accountancy, Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in auditing, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and communication skills, are essential for success in this role.
