About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our Modelling & Instrumentation Department (MID) in the Environmental Monitoring & Modelling Division (EMMD). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of senior/executive engineers and engineering managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Plan and manage the setup of new air quality supersites, including contract management, collaboration with academics and vendors to evaluate air quality monitoring systems.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Manage the maintenance, repair, and replacement of scientific air pollutant analysers and station shelters according to a set schedule to ensure smooth operations of our air and water monitoring systems.
  • ICT System Implementation: Plan the implementation of upgrading and migration of related ICT systems and platforms to ensure they meet IT security requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Review existing air/water monitoring systems and work processes to identify and implement improvements at a system level, enhancing efficiency of operations and management of various systems.
  • Testbeds and Trials: Propose and plan the implementation of testbeds and trials for emerging technologies and systems for monitoring air and water quality.
  • Data Analysis: Plan and perform data analysis on data collected from trials or air and water monitoring systems to identify areas of improvement, insights, or to assess the effectiveness of systems/trials.
  • System Integration: Translate successful testbedding projects and trials to operational monitoring systems, considering operational, site integration, and IT security requirements.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, external agencies, and vendors to develop and integrate new monitoring systems onto a common NEA-wide sensor platform.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Environmental/Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Preferably 5 years of working experience in Environmental/Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical engineering fields.
  • Skills: Self-motivating and driven to learn, innovate, and improve processes; ability to work individually and as part of a team; good analytical and thinking skills; ability to solve problems and think out of the box.
  • Language: Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Advantages: Background/experience in environmental analysers, data analytics, and machine learning will be advantageous.
