Support Special Needs Students as a Care Specialist

We are seeking an empathetic and skilled individual to join our team as a Special Needs Student Care Specialist.

Job Description

As a Special Needs Student Care Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and support services to students with special needs. Your primary goal will be to create a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment that fosters growth, development, and independence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and implementing individualized care and educational activities tailored to each student's needs and abilities.
  • Employing evidence-based strategies to promote learning, development, and vocational readiness.
  • Facilitating life skills training, such as daily living tasks, social interaction, communication, and vocational readiness.
  • Monitoring and recording participant progress, adjusting approaches as needed for optimal engagement.
  • Collaborating with therapists, vocational trainers, families, and the broader care team.
  • Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment that upholds participant dignity and promotes resilience.
  • Participating actively in program development, training initiatives, and regular internal meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 1–2 years of experience working in a student care environment.
  • A certificate in Special Needs or Behaviour Management is preferred but not required.
