Job Title: Intellectual Property Counsel

This role reports to the Chief Intellectual Property Officer and is based in Europe.

  • Innovation Safeguarding & Portfolio Oversight: Discover and secure new technical developments while managing existing IP holdings.
  • Patent Development & Prosecution: Partner with external experts to prepare and advance patent applications through to approval.
  • Legal Insight & Strategic Planning: Deliver assessments on third-party claims, conduct freedom-to-operate reviews, and shape IP direction.
  • IP Commercialization: Explore opportunities to generate value from existing IP assets.
  • Contractual Support: Draft and evaluate agreements related to technology collaborations and licensing.
  • Team Leadership Potential: Opportunity to grow into a leadership role within the IP function over time.

The Successful Candidate

  • Qualified Commonwealth Law Patent Attorney with a postgraduate degree in engineering or science.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as LED systems, semiconductor processes, optics, electronics, and thermal management is advantageous.
  • Business-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for cross-functional and external engagement.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, strategic environment.
