The role of an HSSE Specialist requires a strong focus on implementing effective health, safety, security, and environmental management systems across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collecting, tracking, and maintaining accurate data on HSSE performance
  • Formulating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining up-to-date HSSE manuals
  • Analyzing trends, identifying gaps, and providing actionable insights to support informed decision-making
  • Ensuring data accuracy and integrity in HSSE reporting systems
  • Preparing and distributing monthly HSSE performance reports and slide decks for management review
  • Developing dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate safety performance
  • Scheduling, conducting, and coordinating internal and external HSSE audits
  • Maintaining audit records and following up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

In terms of qualifications and experience, candidates should have:

  • A degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in HSSE, preferably in the energy, utilities, or industrial operations sectors
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Knowledge of HSSE management systems, ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001), and audit practices
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with attention to detail
