Job Overview

The Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment is seeking an Assistant Director to join our organization. This role will play a key part in preserving and enhancing Singapore's hawker culture by developing and implementing programming, place-making initiatives, and digital solutions.

This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing programming, place-making initiatives, and digital solutions to enhance vibrancy and footfall of hawker centres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement digital solutions to enhance operations at Socially-conscious Enterprise Hawker Centres (SEHCs).
  • Track and ensure operators implement their proposed programming and digitalisation initiatives.
  • Develop, deploy, and review digital solutions to enhance workflow between operators, stallholders, and NEA.
  • Call tenders to appoint SEHC operators.
  • Execute contract renewals and contract variations.
  • Engage and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, submissions, and presentation materials, and present to management and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Prior work experience in programming, contracts management, and government procurement processes would be an advantage.
  • Meticulous, patient, and open to bringing tasks to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Able to work well with data and numbers.
  • Analytical and able to work independently.
  • A good team player with well-rounded interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as MS Excel and MS Powerpoint.
