Job Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining a safe workplace program, ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of the principles and practices applied in the maintenance and operation of reverse osmosis water treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains a safe workplace program and ensures that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Complies with all Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH), Waste Management and Quality Assurance requirements, goals, policies and procedures.
  • Operates to the best possible standards providing an uninterrupted water supply.
  • Monitors reverse osmosis units and ancillary equipment parameters.
  • Makes adjustments to water plant equipment ensuring operation guidelines are followed.
  • Starts, operates and secures reverse osmosis units and all associated auxiliary equipment essential to water plant operation.
  • Monitors Water Plant chemistry making chemical adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintains cleanliness of water plant.


Requirements

The successful candidate will have:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Colorado Class 'D' Certification or equivalent.
  • At least six months experience working as an Operator in a Water Treatment Facility.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices applied in the maintenance and operation of reverse osmosis water treatment plants.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude and to work efficiently in a stressful environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.


Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have:
  • Previous experience with remote Polar Logistics operations.
  • One year of experience in water production/treatment operations.
  • Reverse Osmosis experience.


Benefits

The company offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical and dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica. Successful completion of Federal Background Check required by the NSF is also a requirement.

Physical Requirements

The successful candidate must be willing and able to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods, lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum, perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors in extreme cold.
