Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Operations Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of mechanical maintenance are carried out safely and effectively.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in maintenance of oil pumps, gas compressors (reciprocating and centrifugal), water injection pumps, and power generation equipment. A background in FPSO operations would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and supervise mechanical maintenance teams to ensure effective and safe operations.
  2. Dismantle, repair, and reassemble mechanical equipment while identifying potential sources of hazard and using correct procedures.
  3. Condition monitor mechanical equipment by obtaining and checking equipment datum points, setting up condition monitoring equipment, and recording accurate readings.
  4. Diagnose faults in mechanical equipment by responding promptly to problems, selecting appropriate tests and diagnostic procedures, and using results to determine actions to take.
  5. Monitor and maintain pollution control measures by ensuring controlled discharges are within prescribed limits and reporting unplanned discharges immediately.
  6. Contribute to the health and safety of the working environment by keeping work areas clean and free of hazards, taking positive action to stop hazards and unsafe behaviors, and reporting incidents to relevant supervisors.

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering preferred OR Chief Engineer Certificate as per STCW Reg AIII/2.
  • Minimum 5 years offshore experience with at least 3 years at a supervisor level.
  • Extensive experience in maintenance of oil pumps, gas compressors (reciprocating and centrifugal), water injection pumps, and power generation equipment.
  • FPSO experience desirable.
  • Fully experienced with PTW and Risk Assessment Techniques.
  • Medically fit with offshore International standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.

  • Conscientious, flexible, versatile, and determined with assertive and positive communication and performance.
  • Good safety and supervisory leadership skills, good written and spoken communication in English, clear understanding of personnel behavioral and team issues, capable of motivating teams.
  • Appropriate standard of technical, legal, and professional knowledge as defined by competencies.
  • Good familiarity with computerized maintenance recording systems, practical familiarity with standard 'Office' software package, operation and use of Internet and electronic mail system.
