Key Responsibilities
- Offer technical assistance to production teams and implement Manufacturing Engineering initiatives aimed at developing, sustaining, and enhancing manufacturing processes that align with business and customer expectations regarding safety, quality, cost, delivery rates, and lead times (SQCD).
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) - Guarantee that manufacturing operations adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards, fulfilling the objectives of the Zero Harm initiative.
- Product Safety - Confirm that manufacturing processes can achieve and maintain design specifications, ensuring compliance and addressing safety-related concerns rigorously.
- Quality Assurance - Foster a culture of zero defects within the organization. Collaborate with various departments to mitigate risks and ensure products are delivered Right First Time. Adhere to all relevant company policies and standards.
- Technical Oversight - Ensure the application of manufacturing process controls within designated areas, with authorization based on appropriate delegation. Serve as MEA or PCA signatory when applicable.
- Process Improvement - Identify and pursue opportunities for new or enhanced manufacturing processes, digital systems, and technologies to meet evolving requirements.
- Project Management - Organize and oversee activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budgeting, while communicating progress to relevant stakeholders and resolving issues to meet project timelines.
- Capability Development - Design, implement, validate, and continuously refine manufacturing processes and digital systems to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, and lead time requirements. Analyze data to demonstrate and enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Best Practices - Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Leaders and Manufacturing Process Owners to advance manufacturing processes towards established best practices.
- Knowledge Sharing - Engage with interfacing teams and local experts to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of manufacturing processes and digital systems. Document and disseminate best practices through participation in relevant Communities of Practice.
- Talent Development - Take responsibility for personal development to achieve the competencies required for the role. Actively seek to broaden knowledge and experience to enhance effectiveness in current and future tasks. Provide coaching and technical support to colleagues.
- External Collaboration - Build and maintain productive relationships with partners and suppliers to facilitate the achievement of mutual objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Engineering is preferred.
- A general understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the industry.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Systems and relevant software tools.
- Insight into Manufacturing Engineering processes pertinent to the role.
