The Assistant Chemist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plating baths. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in chemical analysis, laboratory testing, and process control.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor process trends in collaboration with the Technical Manager to optimize bath performance.
  • Perform regular chemical analysis and lab tests to verify that plating bath parameters meet specifications.
  • Recommend replenishment or bath renewal based on analysis results.
  • Conduct periodic compliance checks to ensure bath parameters align with required specs.
  • Maintain accurate records of analysis and test reports, updating daily test logs as necessary.
  • Ensure all chemicals are within shelf life and review COAs for compliance.
  • Support the evaluation and setup of new processes, including supplier liaison and trials.
  • Assist in generating and updating process documentation.
  • Contribute to documentation for quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS 9100).
Requirements:
  • Qualification: Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Chemical Process Technology.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in the chemical plating industry or a laboratory setting.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in chemical analysis.
    • Familiar with Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS).
    • Skilled in Microsoft Office / Excel.
    • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques.
