Singapore is embarking on a pioneering population-based health research initiative at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. This ambitious project aims to investigate how lifestyle and physiological factors impact health and longevity in the Singaporean population.

We are seeking a talented Health Research Specialist to join our dynamic team responsible for conducting health assessment operations as part of our cohort studies contributing to a Singapore population biobank.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and document Work Instructions (WI) and SOPs for data collection protocol to ensure accurate and consistent results.
  2. Source and coordinate with vendors for procurement and supply of services or goods required for health screening operations, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality products.
  3. Perform health screening procedures according to WI and SOPs, including anthropometric measurements, blood pressure measurement, retinal imaging, ECG, visual acuity test, hand grip strength measurement, carotid ultrasound, and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA).
  4. Ensure participant safety and privacy through adherence to established guidelines and work practices.
  5. Participate in or conduct periodic technical re-assessments to ensure standardization and consistency in data collection and image acquisition.
  6. Implement new procedures for future research projects.
  7. Supervise trainees involved in research operations and provide guidance on best practices.
Requirements:
  1. Degree in Life Sciences / Biomedical Sciences or relevant fields from recognized institutions.
  2. Ability to interact with people of various age groups and backgrounds, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Fluency in spoken Mandarin/Chinese Dialects/Malay/Tamil will be an advantage to communicate with participants who are only able to converse in these languages.
  4. Phlebotomy skill would be an advantage.
  5. Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  6. Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
