Job Summary

This role involves overseeing production processes, schedules, and personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to procedures, maintaining high-quality production, and promoting effective employee and company relations to enhance customer service and company profits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise production personnel to ensure high-quality production and adherence to safety standards.
  • Maintain close observation of orders to ensure timely completion and initiate necessary steps to meet schedule requirements.
  • Promote and support site initiatives, including safety programs, lean initiatives, and training programs, and ensure consistent interpretation and application of policies and procedures.
  • Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees and encourage process improvements.
  • Evaluate employee performance, identify training needs, and coach and counsel employees for performance, attendance, and behavior.
  • Review and approve work time, maintain accuracy of hours worked, and adjust direct labor to support demand and manage available resources.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, cGMP, OSHA, and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers and other departments as required.
  • Participate in special project teams as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing, with 3 years of experience in people management.
  • Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to directly supervise hourly employees in the manufacturing/production area.
  • Effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment with limited instruction and guidance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels in the organization.
  • Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees.

Travel Requirements:

Minimal to no travel required.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Manufacturing environment.
  • Overtime and being on-call is required. Occasionally required to work on different shifts.
  • Regularly uses hands and fingers to operate objects, tools, or controls. Frequently required to stand, talk, and hear for long periods of time.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities may be needed by this job, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
