Position: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Purpose:

The core objective of this role is to transform raw materials into finished goods in the most effective, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This encompasses planning manufacturing workflows, investigating technical literature for innovative metallurgy techniques, and creating tools, processes, and machinery to yield high-quality products while optimizing capital investments. The role also emphasizes the design, operation, and management of both casting and machining processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for technical expertise and the capability to spearhead continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and sustain process work routing.
  • Establish production and inspection methodologies.
  • Assist in engineering advancements in metallurgy and machining operations.
  • Identify, create, and execute manufacturing processes and productivity enhancement initiatives. Supervise processes to enhance production efficiency.
  • Lead and implement the First Article part process, including necessary documentation.
  • Drive and manage continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing cycle times.
  • Enhance existing processes to minimize cycle durations and ensure consistent quality for current products, as well as innovate new products.
  • Utilize simulation software for the development of new processes.
  • Oversee equipment monitoring, including routine testing and ensuring maintenance activities are performed.
  • Prepare CNC programming for part machining and design fixtures for casting machining.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet customer order delivery requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to operators in milling, turning, grinding, and honing machining operations.
  • Exhibit a technical inclination to plan, design, establish, modify, optimize, and oversee manufacturing processes.
  • Stay informed about current and emerging trends in the manufacturing sector, both domestically and internationally.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned periodically.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to the Head of Engineering

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in precision casting processes is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and NC programming.
  • Experience in process planning, including jig and fixture design and tool application.
  • Knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both verbal and written in English and Chinese).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to enhance processes to reduce cycle times and ensure quality consistency.
  • Technical inclination to plan, design, establish, modify, optimize, and oversee manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of non-destructive testing (FPI, X-ray), heat treatment, and machining operations.
  • Knowledge in data analytics for cost reduction.
  • Recent graduates with a strong learning attitude and enthusiasm for technical knowledge are encouraged to apply.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in computer applications (including a strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with SAP is a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both verbal and written in English and Chinese)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
