Job Title: Coastal Engineering Specialist

Job Description:

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites applications for a Coastal Engineering Specialist position.

The selected candidate will work on investigating the AI tracking of coastal structures with novel sensing and monitoring, environmental modelling, and environmental impact assessment.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Experimental measurements and numerical simulations to train and validate AI tracking algorithms
  • Life cycle analysis to identify benefits of AI tracking
  • Field experiments in the coastal environment to collect high-quality data
  • Organisation of international meetings and forums (prior experience preferred)
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess at least a bachelor's degree in related fields with an emphasis on AI-driven image recognition, environmental data analysis, experimental testing in the field and laboratory, hydrodynamic modelling, or relevant topics.

A master's degree in civil engineering is highly desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also essential.

The successful candidate should be open to a fixed-term contract.
