Purchaser cum Store Assistant Job Description

This role involves managing purchasing and inventory, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services as per project/department needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchasing Duties
    • Identify suppliers for materials, equipment, and services.
    • Evaluate offers, negotiate prices and delivery schedules.
    • Maintain supplier relationships.
    • Prepare purchase orders in line with procedures.
  • Store Management Duties
    • Receive, inspect and record incoming goods.
    • Ensure proper storage to avoid damage/loss.
    • Store materials systematically.
    • Maintain accurate stock records.
  • Administrative & Reporting
    • Prepare reports on purchasing and inventory for management.
    • Coordinate with accounts for invoice verification and payment.
    • Highlight discrepancies in deliveries or quality issues.

Purchaser cum Store Assistants should possess knowledge of engineering/electrical parts, inventory control systems, and basic accounting awareness.

Fundamental Skills:
  • Purchasing skills including negotiation and procurement.
  • Inventory management skills including stock tracking and maintenance.
  • Communication skills for effective coordination and reporting.
