Food Category Procurement Director

We are seeking a seasoned procurement expert to oversee the acquisition of high-quality fresh food ingredients. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in supplier management, cost control, and risk mitigation.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sources of fresh products. Key responsibilities include:
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best possible prices for fresh food ingredients.
- Category Operations: Oversee overall category operations, including product setup, inventory planning, listing/delisting, and promotional activity applications.
- Risk Management: Analyze and mitigate potential risks associated with procurement, such as supply chain disruptions and product recalls.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years working experience in a leading platform/company, with at least 2 years independently responsible for a product category.
- Over 3 years of relevant product procurement experience.
- Excellent negotiation skills and strong supplier management abilities.
- Proficient in English language.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
- Familiarity with local major markets for vegetables/fruits, aquatic products, meat, dried condiments, and alcoholic beverages/hard drinks.
- Understanding of supply chain structures of key local players and ability to utilize upstream resources effectively.
