Job Title: AVP, Structured Credit Team

At SMBC Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Structured Credit Team as an AVP. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the team's senior staff in marketing efforts, preparing proposals and submissions to clients, and maintaining customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the team's senior staff in marketing efforts, including preparing proposals and submissions to clients.
  • Maintain customer relationships and support the expansion of business opportunities.
  • Prepare credit applications for new transactions, including technical, financial, and financing structure elements.
  • Comply with all regulatory and internal policies and procedures.
  • Initiate wider initiatives internally and externally.
  • Prepare team marketing materials, pitch-books, and reports.
  • Pro-actively suggest improvements and initiatives to enhance output and process execution practices.
  • Work with internal colleagues in the drafting and reviewing of documentation.
  • Support timely reporting of fees, deal pipelines, and expenses.
  • Attend internal meetings to gain and share information.
Requirements:
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in financial institutions or private credit investment funds.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to prepare periodic reports in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint format.
  • University graduate with a strong academic background.
  • Deep financial market experience and demonstrated financial/risk analysis and marketing skills.
  • Ability to draft or guide the drafting of internal discussion/credit papers and marketing pitches.
  • Astute and possess a keen eye for detail, good credit sense, and critical thinking/analytical skills.
  • Articulate with strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A team player but also independent and self-motivated and resourceful.
  • Good organisation skills and ability to prioritise, manage, and meet expectations/deadlines with strong work ethics, integrity, and commitment.
