Senior System Support Specialist

As a Senior System Support Specialist within the Global Technology Services - Infrastructure Operations L2 UNIX team, your primary responsibility is to provide systems-level support for over 3,000 mission-critical application production and non-production servers running Linux and Solaris operating systems.

  • Collaborate with team members to address various system-related challenges.
  • Participate in Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management processes.
  • Address security vulnerabilities to comply with audit requirements.

You will work extensively with Solaris, Linux operating systems, Oracle Sparc, x86 HW products, and various virtual hosts such as LDoms, VMware, and Cloud.

Additionally, you will be involved in managing Veritas Clustering/Storage Foundation, RedHat clustering, Solaris ZFS, and EMC/Hitachi SAN storage products.

Monitoring the environment for potential risks, implementing automation using tools like Ansible, and providing support during project management functions will also be part of your role.

Your contribution to the identification, development, and maintenance of operational policies and procedures related to the Unix infrastructure will be crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of the system.

Your dedication to ensuring high operational standards and your proactive approach to system monitoring and issue resolution will be highly valued in this role.
