The role of the 1LOD Markets Controls Testing Team is to deliver a comprehensive programme of control testing across all Markets businesses globally.
This involves executing a risk-based programme that identifies, evaluates and manages operational and compliance risks in Sales and Trading businesses.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to the team, ensuring effective execution of control testing activities.
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement of the control testing process.
- Manage and develop the performance of team members, providing coaching and guidance where necessary.
- Direct the development and execution of a large and complex programme of control assessment and testing.
- Oversee the supervision framework within the testing team, ensuring highly effective execution and reporting of testing activities.
- Execute the testing programme to agreed timelines, escalating and resolving obstacles to delivery.
- Maintain high standards and best practice for the execution of testing activities.
- Provide robust and constructive challenge to Senior stakeholders on the design and effectiveness of controls.
- Support stakeholders in determining necessary control remediation identified through the testing programme.
- Maintain effective stakeholder relationships across Front Office, Conduct Risk, Compliance, and Operational Risk.
- 10+ years experience in Front Office controls testing, internal audit, external audit, independent control reviews or similar disciplines.
- Comprehensive understanding of Markets business activities and associated regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of Markets Operational and Compliance risks, and related controls, associated with trading and sales activities.
- Strong understanding of control design assessment and effectiveness testing techniques and practices.
- Extensive experience of leading execution of complex workloads to challenging timelines.
- Experience of leading a large team, coaching and developing team members.
- Experience of overseeing a team to deliver rigour and attention to detail in execution.
- Experience of developing and maintaining effective senior stakeholder relationships.
- Track record of providing constructive, effective challenge to Senior Stakeholders on risk management matters.
