Teaching Position for Special Needs Students
We are seeking a dedicated Relief Teacher to provide direct and indirect instructional support to students with special needs in a positive learning environment.
The successful candidate will employ educational strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the development of sensory- and perceptual-motor skills, language, cognition, and memory.
In addition, they will instruct students in academic subjects using various teaching methods such as phonetics, multi-sensory learning, and repetition to reinforce learning and meet students' varying needs and interests.
The ideal candidate will establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining an environment conducive to learning for all students.
They will work closely with a Teacher Aide to achieve quality outcomes for the students.
Regular meetings with parents will be held to discuss their children's progress and determine priorities for their children's individualized educational needs.
The successful candidate will also confer with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and other professionals to develop personalized education plans (PEPs) designed to promote students' educational, physical, and social/emotional development.
Accurate and complete student records will be maintained, and reports on children and activities will be prepared as required by law.
The Relief Teacher will establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, they will participate in professional development activities, curriculum development meetings, and other training opportunities.
Requirements include at least 2 'A'/ H2 Level passes and 2 AO/H1 passes or a recognized local polytechnic diploma, a good overall International Baccalaureate Diploma score, and a willingness to attend a course in special education once hired.
