Procurement Specialist

The role is to identify, evaluate and manage suppliers for mechanical components ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality, technical compliance and timely delivery to support production and engineering needs.

  • Interpret and analyze mechanical drawings to support sourcing decisions and breakdown processes effectively.
  • Perform cost estimation and analysis for sheet metal and machined components; identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct commercial negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, payment terms and contractual agreements.
  • Convert SAP MRP-generated BOM requirements into accurate and timely purchase orders.
  • Perform data analysis to support sourcing strategies; apply logical thinking to evaluate procurement performance and vendor capabilities.
  • Assess and mitigate supply risks, ensuring continuity and resilience in the supply chain.
  • Monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance and relationships; lead supplier performance reviews.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality and Production to align sourcing activities with business needs.
  • Maintain high standards of professional ethics, integrity and confidentiality in all sourcing activities.

Key qualifications include a diploma or bachelor's degree preferably in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering and Automation or other related science and engineering disciplines. Over 3 years of experience in sourcing and supplier development roles is also required.

  • Able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills; capable of cost analysis and estimation for sheet metal and machining products.
  • Proficient in data analysis with good logical thinking ability.
  • Strong communication, analytical, judgmental and collaboration skills; resilient under pressure.
  • Familiar with procurement processes and SAP system; background in large-scale manufacturing enterprises is preferred.
  • Excellent coordination skills; detail-oriented, conscientious, responsible and a strong team player.
  • High professional ethics and integrity.
