We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines, as well as experience with cloud-enabled technologies such as AWS RDS and AWS Fargate.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing relevant internal and external data to generate business intelligence and advanced analytics datasets based on stakeholders' requirements.
You will also design data models that align with our in-house data warehouse standards, define migration execution activities to move data from existing database solutions to our in-house data warehouse, and regular housekeeping of raw data and stored in the in-house data warehouse.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ETL, data warehouse and BI concepts, and experience with databases and data warehouses such as PostgreSQL and MS SQL.
Additionally, you will need to possess strong programming skills with advanced knowledge of Java and/or Python, and practical experience with ETL tools like AWS Glue.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a collaborative environment with opportunities for on-the-job training and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze internal and external data to generate business intelligence and advanced analytics datasets.
- Design data pipelines to curate sourced data into the in-house data warehouse.
- Design data models that align with the in-house data warehouse standards.
- Define migration execution activities to move data from existing database solutions to the in-house data warehouse.
- Regularly perform housekeeping of raw data and stored data in the in-house data warehouse.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and platforms.
- Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability.
- Identify and realize opportunities to acquire better data.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related quantitative discipline from a top tier university.
- Certified in AWS Data Engineer Specialty or AWS Solution Architect Associate.
- Deep knowledge of Snowflake.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or relevant working experience in a similar role, preferably in the financial industry.
- Strong understanding or practical experience of at least one common Enterprise Agile Framework (e.g., Kanban, SAFe, SCRUM, etc.).
- Strong understanding of ETL, data warehouse and BI (Qlik) and Advanced Data Analytics concepts.
- Experience with databases and data warehouses - PostgreSQL, MS SQL.
- Strong programming skills with advanced knowledge of Java and/or Python.
- Practical experience with ETL tools such as AWS Glue.
