IoT Infrastructure Specialist

Job Description:

As a highly skilled IoT Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge IoT infrastructure solutions that meet our organization's needs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and scalability of our IoT systems.

The ideal candidate will possess strong foundational knowledge in systems administration, networking, and cybersecurity principles. Hands-on experience with IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP), wireless technologies (Wi-Fi 6/6E, LoRaWAN, cellular IoT), and IoT platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT) is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement IoT infrastructure solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with software teams to integrate IoT systems with existing IT infrastructure.
  • Implement robust security measures to prevent vulnerabilities in IoT devices and networks.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot IoT system performance, identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in IoT system deployment or 3+ years in IT/networking roles with IoT exposure.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and API integrations.
  • Familiarity with IoT dashboard tools (e.g., Grafana, Node-RED).

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in configuring IoT hardware and network devices.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles for IoT/OT environments.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure IoT Specialty) or Linux/Windows fundamentals.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • CCNA/CompTIA Network+, CWNP (Wireless), or vendor certifications.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to translate business needs into technical IoT solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, network, and software layers.
  • Willigness for on-call support and off-hours maintenance.
