Silicon Photonics Process Engineer Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the development and manufacturing of silicon photonics products. This role requires strong technical expertise in silicon photonics design and integration, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide on-site support to resolve silicon photonics design and integration issues in coordination with the internal design team and externally foundry process team.
  • Work closely with foundry to define, develop and manage process development plans.
  • Document process capabilities, design rules, and other design-for-manufacturing (DFM) guidance in collaboration with foundry and internal stakeholders.
  • Help define, oversee and track process qualification plans.
  • Manage photonics wafer fabrication lots from tape-out through delivery, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Track and communicate lot status, issues, and risks with internal stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • MSc or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in silicon photonics design and/or photonics process integration.
  • Strong background in integrated silicon photonics design and manufacturing.
  • Experience working with silicon photonics foundries, including hands-on experience with process documentation and familiarity with tape-out procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
