DevSecOps Engineer Job Description

The role of a DevSecOps Engineer is pivotal in ensuring the security and efficiency of software deployment. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment.

Maintaining cloud-based infrastructure is another key aspect of this position. The ideal candidate should have experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and be able to monitor and enhance these systems as needed.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation is also crucial for this role. The successful applicant will need to develop and manage IaC scripts to ensure seamless infrastructure management.

In addition to these technical skills, the DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes. Ensuring system security and compliance by applying best security practices is also a vital part of this job.

Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to maintain uptime and reliability are essential skills for this role. Automating repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency is also expected.

Collaboration with developers, security teams, and IT operations is necessary to streamline workflows. Implementing logging, monitoring, and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog is also an important aspect of this position.

Maintaining version control and source code management tools such as Git and GitHub/GitLab is a critical responsibility for the DevSecOps Engineer.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 2 - 3 years' experience in DevOps Engineer or Cloud Engineer work
  • Proficient with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent
  • AWS/Azure Cloud certifications are a strong advantage
