About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Academic Leader to join our team as Principal. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the academic and non-academic teams in the execution of professional duties and responsibilities to meet the academic, operational, and financial targets of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate the overall strategic direction of the school, ensuring alignment with the Group's strategic goals and targets.
  • Develop and implement a long-term and short-term development plan for the school, aligned with the Group's vision and objectives.
  • Present the school development plan to the Board for approval and execute it accordingly.
  • Evaluate the school's development needs and revise the plan as required.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the school, ensuring smooth, efficient, and effective management.
  • Establish and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure alignment with the Group's SOPs.
  • Maintain a well-resourced and well-maintained school environment, supporting student learning and staff development.
  • Maximize the effective utilization of school facilities and resources to ensure effective learning for students.
  • Lead the school in curriculum design, working closely with the Pedagogy team at Headquarters.
  • Ensure the quality, balance, and relevance of the academic, pastoral, and after-school activities in the curriculum received by students.
  • Align the school's curriculum with other schools within the EtonHouse Group to provide a smooth transition for students progressing within the Group.
  • Coach and support teaching staff to monitor, assess, document, and maintain the evaluation and assessment of students' learning and development.
  • Ensure relevant and authentic evaluation and assessment of children's learning and development, with updates and reports to parents where required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and ensure their secure storage.
  • Ensure that teaching materials and resources are adequate to support a high-quality learning environment for young children.
  • Monitor and review teaching and learning standards, assisting in teaching on an ad hoc basis when required.
  • Lead, inspire, and motivate the teaching and non-teaching teams to build a positive, collaborative, and high-energy school environment.
  • Cycle visit and give timely feedback and coaching to improve teaching standards.
  • Set performance and development goals for teaching and non-teaching staff and evaluate performance against set goals.
  • Plan professional development for the school team through assessments of training needs.
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partner to plan staffing projections to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Lead the selection and recruitment of teaching staff and non-teaching staff, mentoring new members to ensure a smooth assimilation into the school environment.
  • Manage staff scheduling, including relief covers during absences and resource allocation for new programs or classes.
  • Lead the school team in all child safeguarding matters, promoting the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Develop and review policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, ensuring implementation and adherence.
  • Actively participate in student admissions, ensuring that student records are well-maintained with required documents prior to admission.
  • Responsible for allocating students to classes, considering factors like age, friendship groupings, previous class placement, learning, and development considerations.
  • Ensure that required child-staff ratios in all classes are met.
  • Build and maintain a professional and positive relationship with parents, ensuring timely, effective, and regular communication about student progress.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies to market and maintain student enrollment, maximizing school capacity and resources.
  • Participate in marketing events and programs to promote the brand image of the school and the Group.
  • Interact with prospective parents to explain the curriculum and ethos of the school, conducting tours as required.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the school, achieving financial targets and KPIs.
  • Accountable for financial management, adhering to approved budgets.
  • Set the school's budget annually, reviewing it regularly to ensure adequate resources for effective operation.
  • Ensure all school fees are collected on time.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Team to submit accurate management reports to the BOD monthly.
  • Manage cost control in all aspects of school operations.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated leader with a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Education. Your background should include 5 years of leadership experience and 8-10 years of teaching experience, preferably in working with preschools.

Your expertise in inquiry-based curriculum is a plus, and you should be able to demonstrate your ability to navigate ambiguity and work under pressure.

You must be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to think on your feet and inspire your team to achieve excellence.

Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 per annum
