Occupational Therapist Job Opportunity

At our esteemed institution, we are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with Mild Intellectual Disability and those with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct occupational therapy services, including assessment, intervention, and evaluation, under the supervision of the Head of Department (Allied Professionals). The Occupational Therapist will maintain a caseload as assigned by the Head of Department (AP) and carry out therapy while maintaining updated records of students' case files.

The role also involves participating in case consultations and providing relevant support services to benefit students and their families. The standard of professional practice is expected to be ethical and delivered with due consideration to the relevant legislation and procedures.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify and assess individual therapy needs of students using standardized assessment tools and school in-house assessment forms.
  • Facilitate development of appropriate and effective tools for identification, assessment, intervention of students.
  • Formulate and implement individual/group therapy programmes for students.
  • Involve in the school's process of Individual Education Plan (IEP) for students under caseload.
  • Provide intervention for students on a one-to-one basis, in groups, classes or special settings based on the needs of the students.
  • Evaluate and document students' therapy needs and progress regularly, and review the effectiveness of the intervention.
  • Provide consultation and update students' status to the relevant staff members and caregivers.
  • Work in collaboration with teaching and non-teaching staff and caregivers for the effective enhancement of services.
  • Maintain and update students' case files with relevant documentation, records and reports.
  • Conduct relevant in-house training for school staff, parents and caregivers.
  • Perform other duties and be involved in committee work as assigned by school management.

Requirements:

We are looking for a degree holder in Occupational Therapy recognized by Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), with full registration and commitment to delivering excellent service. Good communication and interpersonal skills, reliability, responsibility, and high initiative are essential qualities for this role.
