Chemical Process Operations Specialist

Senior Shift Technicians oversee the operation and monitoring of chemical plants' Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to manage process parameters during startup, normal operations, and shutdown. The primary goal is to ensure safe and efficient performance while adhering to established procedures such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulations, and risk assessments.
The DCS Operator must be able to analyze deviations and execute corrective actions based on documented process guidelines. Clear communication with field technicians is crucial for seamless coordination between DCS operations and field activities.
Key Requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Qualifications:
Diploma or Nitec in Chemical Engineering or related discipline required. Minimum 3 years' experience as a DCS Operator in a chemical processing environment is essential; experience in polymerization and/or extrusion is a plus.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of chemical processing and equipment
- Familiarity with ISO standards such as ISO14001, ISO9001/IATF16949, ISO45001, and SS651
