Job Title: Light Vehicle Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Light Vehicle Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and repairing light vehicles, snowmobiles, and equipment according to schedule.


Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and repair light vehicles, snowmobiles, and equipment
  • Use diagnostic procedures and test equipment to identify and correct equipment faults
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records on inspections completed and work performed
  • Operate shop equipment including welders, compressors, presses, and wheel alignment equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and service
  • Operate recovery vehicle and perform recovery functions in extreme environmental conditions
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years' experience in vehicle maintenance and repair (Technician Level I)
  • Minimum four years' experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, or three years' experience with maintenance and repair plus one season Antarctic deployment as a light vehicle technician I (Technician Level II)
  • Minimum seven years' experience in vehicle maintenance and repair (Technician Level III)

Other Information:
  • Must be willing and able to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods
  • Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica
